Introduction - Client ProfileLiz is a 29-year-old female who lives with her common-law partner of 8 years and their two daughters, ages 2 and 5. They live in a rented 3-bedroom apartment. Her partner works full-time at a warehouse during the day and she works a part-time evening job at a local retail store so that one of them is always available to care for the kids. Liz was always described by people as a nervous child. During her teen years she experienced mild anxiety. In school, she often had trouble concentrating on her schoolwork. In class, she would find her mind going blank when she was asked questions. She found she slept far less when she had school exams. All throughout high school she felt like she could never relax. Seven years ago, Liz started to notice her anxiety was slowly getting worse. She is now getting frequent tension headaches and is getting irritated with her kid’s behaviours more and more. She always feels tired and has a terrible time getting to sleep. She feels like she can never keep up with the housework. She feels so busy because of this and doesn’t see her friends or her family as much as she used to. |
