Client ProfileNav grew up in Pakistan and has a history of difficult behaviour since he lost his parents 5 years ago. After he lost his parents, he went to live with his older brother. At this time, he joined a gang, committed petty thefts in the neighbourhood, bullied, and fought other young men. After 2½ years, Nav’s older brother determined he could no longer care for Nav. At this time, Nav migrated to Canada from Pakistan to live with his uncle. Nav’s uncle is married with three children of ages 8, 10, and 12. He works as a warehouse manager.
Since Nav arrived in Canada, he has continued to have similar behavioural challenges in his neighbourhood, at school and at work. His uncle became concerned after Nav indicated that he could not control his actions. So Nav’s uncle arranged for a visit to the family doctor for a mental health assessment. The family doctor assessed Nav’s anxiety level to be moderate. The family doctor referred him to the Mosaic Primary Care Network (PCN) clinic in North East Calgary for further mental health assessment and intervention. |
