Scenario

It’s been two weeks since your supervisor asked that you explore some new aspects of the cell cycle and cell division. You’ve (again) planned to examine a sample of cells on Friday afternoon. You’ve been preparing your own cells recently, and you certainly know the importance of labeling them properly. For this last examination, you prepared and preserved your samples the day before by synchronizing the cells, so they’re all in the same phase of mitosis. You’re now prepared to stain them.

The problem this time is that one of the three lights that stimulate the fluorophores is burnt out, and you don’t know how to replace it. This will limit the number of structures you can observe in your cells, however, you’re confident you can identify the cells despite this setback.

Let's get started!
