History of presenting complaint

During her consultation with the doctor, she says: 'the contractions are weak and fairly painless, but I have noticed copious vaginal discharge.'

After a while, she adds: '...actually it was my husband who convinced me to come to hospital, reminding me that my last pregnancy was premature and that this one could be too. I think that if I were to rest at home, the contractions would disappear. However my husband was adamant.'
