You: 'How long have you had the pain for?'
Mr A: 'The pain started around midnight and it has been getting worse.'

You:'And how would you describe the pain?'
Mr A: 'It's a dull heavy pain in my chest that radiates out into my left shoulder.'

You: 'Is it a persistent pain, or does it come and go?'
Mr A: 'Well, it's been at its worst for the past hour!'

You: 'Were you exerting yourself physically in any way before the pain began?'
Mr A: 'No, it actually woke me up.'

You: 'Do you feel breathless, sick or sweaty with the pain?'
Mr A: 'Yes, I feel sweaty and my breathing doesn't feel as easy as normal.'

You: 'Have you ever experienced anything like this before?'
Mr A: 'No, nothing like this before!'

You: 'Have you had any heart or lung problems in the past?'
Mr A: 'No'

You: 'Has anyone in your family had heart problems like a heart attack or angina?'
Mr A: 'No, I don't think so'

You: 'Have you ever been told you have diabetes, high blood pressure or cholesterol?'
Mr A: 'I have high blood pressure, but don't know about cholesterol'

You: 'Do you smoke cigarettes?'
Mr A: 'No'
