The DDx: nemesis or ally?

The DDx is a tool we all use through a medical career to assist in critical evaluation of our patient presentation. It can be used to evaluate our history and exam, what further questions could be asked, further examination. The DDx is also be used to evaluate what medical problems we do not want to miss in a patient presentation. It will also help in determining what diagnostic tests we could consider in helping our investigation of the patient problem, targeting investigations which may help support the diagnosis if needed, rule in or out things we do not wish to miss, and help in treatment.
