A Busy Day in the ClinicYou are a family physician in a busy urban practice. It is Friday and you have a flight leaving at 6:00pm for a family wedding in Vancouver but will be back in the office on the following Tuesday. At 4:00pm, the waiting room is packed as you were delayed by a tearful patient. You have five patients to see before you MUST leave at 4:45 to catch your flight. As you are the sole physician in the office, you realize that you must defer two of the patients until Tuesday. Note: you will only be able to see three of the five patients before you are automatically forced to leave for the airport. You must base your decisions on the limited information available to you from the virtual EMR, before you see the patient. As in real life, once you have started to see a patient, it is a little hard to back out. Here is a snapshot of the schedule: Current time: 4:11pm 3:30 – Rhonda Johnson, 35F – Hypothyroid/Flu Good luck! |
